Operations Manager Required – Job Description 

Our current manager is leaving us after 3 years and we are looking for our next manager to support our great team and take us into the next phase of growth.

We need someone who is honest and enthusiastic to be the ‘go to’ person for committee, staff and members and who can organise and oversee daily operations including gaming, staff and all aspects of compliance in the Club.

The ideal candidate for this position must be computer savvy, familiar with Microsoft office products, not afraid of tackling those government applications, honest, able to build and implement robust processes, be very organised, great communicator and enthusiastic with a strong focus on customer service. We can support you with training and getting to know the lay of the land.

A bit about us:

The Raglan Club has been in the main street of Raglan for over 60 years we are popular with long term locals, the new locals and visitors. You don’t just attend a Club, you belong. We have sub-clubs called adjuncts that raise money for their sport, go on trips, play and socialise together.

We have about 1000 members and two properties. The Club on Bow street of Raglan consists of a large bar, enclosed garden bar at the back which is great for families, a deck in the front, a restaurant, 18 gaming machines, snooker and 8-ball tables, darts and indoor bowls. We also have a Bowling Club about 100m away which has a licenced Clubrooms and 2 bowling greens.

We are an incorporated society, which means we have a committee that is responsible for the efficient and profitable running of the Club and we have a manager who looks after the day to day running of it. It’s a mutually supportive environment.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES/DUTIES:

  • To continue a culture within the Club focused on excellent customer service.
  • Organise and coordinate operations to ensure maximum efficiency, keeping costs down and maximising income.
  • Be fully computer literate and comfortable with technology (think pos system, membership, sound systems, multiple smart tv’s, sky, spark sport, security etc)
  • Can promote and market the Club as a Community facility – including daily/ regular use of Social Media.
  • Be a holder of a Club Managers certificate or able to get one
  • Promote the Club and organise events and visits from other interest groups and Clubs
  • Support and supervise staff in collaboration with the head chef and head duty manager.
  • Monitor beverage stocks to ensure adequate supplies are maintained and wastage is minimised.
  • Ensure members and visitors are treated in a polite and welcoming manner
  • Work with our key staff to set up events and cater to groups
